Fuk Luk Sau
(Happiness, Wealth and Longevity)
Fuk, Luk and Sau, the Three Stars,
are the symbols of the three basic desires of the people: Happiness,
Prosperity and Longevity.
Fuk is depicted as carrying a child
signifying the future, joy and abundance that a child brings to the
world; or carrying a scroll (knowledge), and represents Happiness. Luk is carrying
gold, or Ru Yi in his hand, bringing about wealth, affluence and
prosperity. Sau has his staff in one hand and the peach of longevity
in the other. Always standing together, Luk is always at the center,
flanked with Fuk to the left and Sau on the right.
Fuk, Luk and Sau are placed in the
main gathering places of the family. They are believed to help bring
about what they represent. These smaller images are very convenient.
Because of their size, they can be placed just about anywhere within
the living room, dining room or hallway. Businesses can place them in
the main reception or office.
